Polymer Technology

Introduction

Polymer technology or macromolecular chemistry is a multidisciplinary science that deals with the chemical synthesis and chemical properties of polymers or macromolecules. According to IUPAC recommendations, macromolecules refer to the individual molecular chains and are the domain of chemistry. Polymers describe the bulk properties of polymer materials and belong to the field of polymer physics as a subfield of physics.

Eligibility

Those who have passed the plus Two/equivalent examination or three-year diploma holders in any branch of engineering/equivalent examination are eligible for admission.

Job Prospects

Polymer technologists are engaged in the manufacture of products from polymers. The graduates found a job ranging from small injection moulding companies, making goods such as electrical switches and light fittings, to large companies making a vast array of products and components.
