Environmental Toxicology & Pharmacology
Introduction
Environmental Toxicology is the study of the adverse effects of chemicals on living organisms. It is the study of symptoms, mechanisms, treatments and detection of poisoning, especially the poisoning of people. The chief criterion regarding the toxicity of a chemical is the dose, i.e. the amount of exposure to the substance. Almost all substances are toxic under the right conditions
Environmental Pharmacology is the study of how chemical substances interact with living systems. If substances have medicinal properties, they are considered pharmaceuticals . The field encompasses drug composition and properties, interactions, toxicology, therapy, and medical applications and antipathogenic capabilities
